Courses

Birjhora Mahavidyalaya is a multi-disciplinary (Degree Science, IT) co-educational degree college affiliated to the Gauhati University. Apart from the traditional degree courses, the college also offers several courses of study in Information Technology.
The various course options available to the students of Birjhora Mahavidyalaya are as follows –

  • Three year B.Sc. Major (Semester System).
  • Three year B.Sc. General Course (Semester System).
  • Three year B.Sc. Vocational Course in Information Technology (Semester System).
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA)

Major Subjects:

Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology
General Subjects:

English, Botany, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, Computer Science and Information Technology

In addition to the above, Degree/Diploma/Certificate courses in various disciplines are available through distance education mode:

  • IDOL (Institute of Distance Learning, Gauhati University)
  • KKHSOU (Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University)

Admission

For admission into the First Semester of TDC (Science)Course application forms alongwith the prospectus can be collected from the College office during office hours on working days w.e.f the date mentioned in the admission Notice. Admission Notice is issued after the result of 10+2 stage (both AHSEC and CBSE science Course), generally announced during the month of May of every year. Admission is given purely on merit basis and in accordance with AHSEC and Gauhati University regulations. Govt. policy for reservation of seats for different categories of students are followed.

Students are suggested to consult the college prospectus for detailed information regarding admission.

Admission Form

Application for admission into the various courses should be made through prescribed printed form. Therefore students should collect admission form and prospectus when the college advertise for the same generally during the month of May-June every year. The College at present does not provide facility of neither online admission nor downloading of forms from the website.
