The dream of setting up a purely degree science college and that too in an educationally backward place like Bongaigaon in 1986, was really a big and challenging one. But the dream came true in a very short time due to the relentless efforts and dedication of some of the young and energetic youths of the locality and Birjhora Mahavidyalaya entered the educational scenario of the state in a big way.
The policy of the University Grant Commission and the unique character of the college having degree courses only give ample proof of the far-sightedness of its mentors. During its twenty four years journey it grew from nothing to its present state of something -courtesy the founder president, founder principal and his young brigade. From the very beginning, the main objective of the college authority was to improve Birjhora Mahavidyalaya both in curricular and co-curricular activities to the furthest possible extent and to lead it to a greater height in intellectual, spiritual and social upliftment.
To achieve its goal, the bonding of the three sides of the golden triangle constituted with student, teacher and guardian should be a strong one. Student community both current and past (alumni) is the prime stake holder of the educational institution. Without their participation, cooperation and also dedication towards the institution, it cannot grow to a greater height.
University Grant Commission – the Apex body of the higher education pour a lot of money towards the improvement of not only the infrastructure of the institution but also towards the overall improvement of the student community. It includes scholarships, hostel facility, career guidance, facility of remedial courses etc. All the schemes will be futile if the student community abstain from taking the benefit of them. Their hard work, patience, dedication and devotion towards the institution and the society will definitely pay dividend in time.
